The Lord has said that He will gather the Jewish people through his everlasting kindness and mercy. Isaiah 54: 7 – 8 confirms this: “For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer.
These days we don’t just see the fulfilment of Biblical prophecies, but we can be part of them. It is a wonderful privilege to be called by Him to be part of His work in bringing the Jewish people back home.
Many families have been helped and continue to be helped through our humanitarian aid projects. These projects are a physical demonstration of our love for the Jewish people and also an important way to make contact with families we have not met before and share the vital message of aliyah with them. In recent years we have expanded these projects across the countries we operate in.
Alexander, our representative in Volgograd, Russia, tells of the wonderful response to their project to help Holocaust survivors and Jewish War Veterans:
Many of the Jewish people I visited through the humanitarian aid project had not heard about Ebenezer before and, therefore, were quite cautious at the beginning of our meetings as to our willingness to provide some aid to them for free! However, as they saw our love in action, i.e. our real steps to bring them help and encouragement, their hearts melted and they extended their deep gratitude to our Fund – often with tears in their eyes. Moreover, some of their relatives also learned about Ebenezer and about the opportunity to return to Israel through our contacts with these Jewish people.
The most up-to-date figures we have from the Jewish Agency showed that last year aliyah increased by 36 per cent from the former Soviet Union. Aliyah is on the upsurge and so is our work. Our teams helped more than 5,000 olim return to Israel in 2015 – an increase of over 1,000 from the previous year.
We sense that the time is short and we want to make the most of each moment to help more Jewish people return home. Therefore we invite you to support us through your praying and financial giving, which mean so much to us. If you would like to start to give regularly, preferably by online banking please click here. Thank you for your generosity and partnering with us! Your prayers and donations enable our teams to carry on with their vital work.
